Majority Make Sacrifices for Kids to Attend Non-Government Schools

Seventy-one per cent of parents who send their children to Catholic schools and 70% of parents who send their children to private schools are making personal and household sacrifices to support their child’s education.
   With the cost of living dominating the household agenda, parents who are already scrimping to send their children to the school they like would be unable to cover any increase in school fees. Parents of children at non-government schools are more likely to have made sacrifices. Read more

Reflecting the growing trend of skills-first hiring, the majority of both job seekers (67%) and employers (55%) now agree on-the-job experience is more attractive than university degrees.  Employers say the biggest recruitment challenge they face today is a lack of ‘quality’ applicants with the skills required to do the job, so they’re getting more creative at removing barriers for job seekers.
