Classrooms are beginning to reflect the hyper sexualised, hook up culture of social media.  Moaning, sexual gestures, requests for nudes, teachers are routinely being sexually harassed by students and are not finding a sympathetic ear when they raise concerns.

Funding gaps have made public school principals turn to competitive grants from non-government organisations, charities, and businesses to make ends meet.

Maths Teaching in a Social Media Context

The importance of education, especially with adolescents, is declining. Their motivation is affected, and social media has a role to play in that. There is this effect on year 11s and year 12s at the moment which has been going on since COVID.

High Levels of Pollution in too many Classrooms

One in six schools and childcare centres in capital cities are exposed to air pollution from busy roads, heightening the risks of asthma and respiratory conditions. In some cases it can be as bad as the kids inhaling cigarettes.
   In Australian capital cities, 827 schools and more than 2,300 childcare centres are within 100 metres of a busy road. Children exposed to air pollution face an increased risk of short- and long-term health issues, including asthma attacks. Read more
