Respectful Relationships Education Needs Support

Teachers can play a central role in educating students about respectful relationships but often find themselves behind the eight ball because of a lack of resources and support.   
   If it is to achieve its goals, there needs to be greater top-down coordination, more teacher training and better evaluation systems to improve respectful relationships education (RRE) in Australian schools and encourage change. A Monash University study analysed respectful relationships and found great inconsistencies in the way RRE was delivered.

   Now in its fourth year, a record number of young scholars graduated from the program this month and Children's University activities are designed to have links to university learning and courses. Read more

Mural Project Towards Tolerance

Melbourne's street art is world famous and students will be able to get amongst it through a project planned for 20th November.
  Artists Mike Makatron and Karena Bravo will work with up to 40 high school students from various cultural groups to paint a mural on a street-facing wall at 83 Dover St in inner city Cremorne.
   The piece is Themed 'Cultures without Borders 2' and will teach young people about multiculturalism. Read more
