Teacher Made Edtech Tool for Early and Reluctant Writers

Using Handwriting bot, students can record their ideas, a story or a recount of the weekend, have it read back to them at the touch of a button, and then watch an animation of how to form each letter.
   They can practise writing each letter in the air, then copy it onto paper so early and reluctant writers that would usually require help can create their texts independently. The platform was created by experienced primary teacher Peter Van Grunsven. Read more

Students’ Pulse an Uneven Beat

A new analysis presents a picture of approximately 84,000 students across Australia, who checked in weekly over 1.6 million times over an 18-month period up to August 2022.
   While 70% of the time, students reported feeling positive in any given week, around six percent of students reported feeling negative. In comparison to the previous report released in November 2021, these results show an increase in positive responses. Read more

Budget Remembers Education

The Budget made good on election promises made, with significant funding for schools, the teacher workforce and pro student mental health programs delivered.
  More than $770 million has been made available for schools and that includes a Schools Upgrade Fund (worth $270m) and over $200 million to support the 'Student Well-being Boost' - funding for schools to improve student mental health and wellbeing. Read more
