Problem solving helps maths enjoyment

The challenge of problem solving and introducing real world connections help students to enjoy maths and develop an interest in the subject. A study led by Dr James Russo of Monash University looked at how primary school students felt about learning mathematics through problem solving and found an overwhelmingly positive response.

Excess screen time delays school readiness

In South Australia, nearly 22 per cent of children are considered to be developmentally vulnerable, where they display a much lower than average ability in competencies such as physical health, behaviours, emotional maturity, language or communication.
   That is in no small part because screen time and a penchant for computers is replacing heathy, quality play, kids are interacting with screens instead of playing with others, outdoors. Read more

Language tutoring marketplace, Preply, connects more than 40,000 bookable tutors teaching 50 languages to hundreds of thousands of learners in 180 countries worldwide.
   Australian tutors are embracing the platform with over 500 tutors currently registered. Tutors can work at a time that suits their schedules and make money, some are earning an extra $3,800 per month.
